Myth-watch: neurothalamology

From experience to meaning...

This weekend I saw this tweet:

So there is a company, Learning JBE (aka Just became easy), with a new approach: neurothalamology.

Neurothalamology is the ability to noninvasively alter the workload of the thalamus, producing an opportunity for learning within the brain.

The thalamus is the part of the brain that acts as the gateway between the cerebral cortex and the sensory signals being received or  stimulated within the body.

Being able to alter the workload of the thalamus, is like being able to take away the white noise and focus on the important information to help us learn.

There are many ways of altering the workload of the thalamus – simply closing your eyes would make a difference – it’s just not as useful…
