Teachers can make a difference and this new study confirms: teacher encouragement has greatest influence on less advantaged children. For this insight so-called Big data’ was used. But let us be honest, this is something we have known for quite a while from e.g. several meta-analyses also mentioned by John Hattie. But there is more. Today, Jelmer Evers tweeted this excerpt from Peak by Ericsson & Pool:
